2020-05May-16 — Restarting on my chromebook kick

My macbook air is starting flake out.  It's certain keys that I use regularly.  My Samsung chromebook died; I think it's the battery but I have not had time to take it to Batteries Plus that says they replace them.  BestBuy has been closed by the WuFlu. So I bought a new one for about 500 from NewEgg.

Acer Chromebook 14 CB514-1HT-P2D1 14" Touchscreen LCD Chromebook - Intel Pentium N4200 Quad-core (4 Core) 1.10 GHz - 8 GB LPDDR4 - 64 GB Flash Memory - Chrome OS - 1920 x 1080 - In-plane Switching

Initial impression was very positive. And some starting up and playing confirms that initial impression.

I was pleasantly surprised that this chromebook picked up from my old one as if I'd never left.

Some software need to update itself and the OS needed a restart, but nothing horrible.

Some pinned apps and websites lost their icons and needed to be repinned.

Some apps actually perform where they didn't on the old chromebook.  So I assumed they have been upgrade for chromebook support.

So hang on while I seek to "move off" the Apple-only path and onto a best in class infrastructure.
